Brett Favre has shown his support for Elon Musk and believes he "deserves all the accolades you can give him" for taking on the role of President Donald Trump's senior advisor.
The NFL legend's comments come off the back of the recent attacks on Musk's Tesla dealerships as a result of his involvement with DOGE and its push for widespread government job cuts. Images of windows being destroyed, charging stations set on fire and Teslas going up in flames have quickly emerged, to which Favre has described as "frightening."
It represents a stark view to how Musk was viewed prior to his involvement with the Trump administration, and the former Green Bay Packers star has admitted his sympathy for the South African-born billionaire, believing that he is only trying to "make the country better" and how people should remember him for everything he's done before.
Speaking on OutKick’s "The Ricky Cobb Show", Favre said: "Elon Musk, several years ago was a Democrat. They loved him. He was the most brilliant inventor, smartest guy ever, richest man in the world, he was on the pedestal. Now he’s working for free and trying to make this country better. Does he need it? Does he need to do that? If you want to fly off into the sunset, buy several islands and never be heard from again, he can do that. And the same can be said for Trump.
"And so, this guy’s doing it because he loves this country and people are hating him for that. I hate it for Elon but I know he’s going to be OK. He’s a lot smarter than all of us and he’s pretty resilient. Anyone who is willing to do what he is doing for this country, deserves all the accolades that you can give him, not the negative backlash."
As part of the escalating violent incidents against Musk's Tesla dealerships, shots have also been fired at a building, with the FBI now opting to launch a task force to crack down on Tesla crime. The Justice Department has also announced charges against arson suspects, with Attorney General Pam Bondi labeling the attacks "domestic terrorism".

In response to the violence, Favre has slammed "very evil" left-wingers for their increasingly out-of-control attacks. "I just think that the left, in this case and in a lot of cases, is very evil. To even remotely attack this guy the way they have is absolutely crazy," the 55-year-old added.
Favre certainly isn't one to hold back from giving his opinions, having just last week shown exactly where he stands in the controversial trans athlete debate by calling out "officials" who permitted a transgender athlete to compete in a recent girl's sports event at a high school in Oregon after reviewing footage posted on social media.
As for Musk, he conceded at a town hall event in Wisconsin on Sunday that Tesla's stock has been cut "roughly in half" as a result of the attacks on his company, saying it has become "a big deal.” On Monday, statistics showed that shares were down an additional 1.7 per cent, and almost 50 per cent since their peak in December.
