Lewiston, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former employee of an area school district is scheduled to be sentenced in January for a child pornography conviction.

24-year-old Dane Austin entered a guilty plea to possession of child pornography during an appearance in Winona Count Court last week. Three other felony charges were dropped through a plea agreement.

The St. Charles area man was arrested at the Lewiston High School in June as a result of an investigation that began last December when an FBI agent became aware of online child porn materials and two of the files were traced to Austin’s IP address. The criminal complaint in the case also stated that Austin told investigators “he had a lot of child porn” on his MacBook, which was seized as evidence.

At the time, media reports indicated Austin was employed as the information technology director for the Lewiston-Altura School District.
